Interesting infographic about how social login and sharing on a site affects e-commerce. Not 100 percent convinced on some of the analysis, though.
For example, the Infographic states, “social login and social sharing can have a dramatic impact on how long your customers stay on your website, creating more opportunities for you to present the right message to the right person at the right time.”
Sure, social login will surely increase a user’s time on your site, but is it “useful” time? To what are they paying attention when they are logging in? Should you really consider it a “good” opportunity to serve up an advertisement to a user while they are logging in to share content that lives on your site? Furthermore, they aren’t sharing the ad, they’re sharing the content, right?
Would it be a better solution to concentrate your marketing efforts on creating really good content and then analyze your metrics to better understand which content pieces your users are engaging with, reading, watching and sharing?
Great points to ponder, though. Thanks for the infographic Monetate.
